An invitation to support the AES states – Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger by donating to the $1 Patriotic Development Covenant.
tHE INVITATION:
This covenant stands as a tribute to our ancestors' blueprint for collective support - from some examples of our Yoruba tradition of Esusu (Pardna-Hand, Isusu, Ajo, or Sou-Sou) to Black Wall Street in Tulsa, the Windrush Generation in Great Britain, the Grenadian Revolution, and, more recently, the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). In numerous ways, across generations, our ancestors demonstrated the power of collective action to overcome monumental challenges to combat oppression, and systemic barriers through unity, resilience, and shared purpose - Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger faces such monumental hurdles which requires our collective support.
On November 7, 2025, during the African Diaspora Welcome Home Ceremony in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré officially declared Burkina Faso a homeland for the Global African Diaspora.
He invited members of the Diaspora to participate in the nation's development, announced new frameworks to support their engagement, and declared to us:
"We are not fighting for Burkina Faso alone. We are fighting for Africa. We are fighting for Black people. We are fighting for the dignity of Africa. We are fighting for the well-being of our people, and those who fight for the well-being of their people carry something in their hearts. We stand wholeheartedly with all peoples who stand for justice, equality, well-being, and we respect those who respect our dignity and sovereignty."
These words affirm a vision of not only Burkina Faso's development, but that Africa develops, integrates, and advances as one self-reliant and united continent. They call on the Global African Diaspora not merely to participate or provide financial support, but to join in rebuilding Africa together.

The Power of One Dollar:
One dollar may seem small, but collectively, it becomes a powerful symbol of unity. Just as a single raindrop cannot fill an ocean, together, countless drops can. So too, our $1 contributions become a shared responsibility and purpose, to protect life, dignity, and well-being. $70,000 is our first goal. $1.5+ billion $1 is the greater mission: a collective commitment to the survival and future of our people - a revelation of our ancestors’ blueprint of collective support.

a tribute of gratitude
This is an extension of our profound gratitude to the Burkina Faso’s President, Head of State, His Excellency, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the Council of Ministers, the Government and institutions of Burkina Faso, and to the people of Burkina Faso for their gracious welcome and accommodation of the 700 returnees coming home to the roots of their homeland.
We equally recognize with deep appreciation the Army, Police, civil authorities, traditional and community leaders, humanitarian workers, volunteers, families, and all those whose efforts, great or small, made this homecoming possible and welcoming. Above all, we thank the Burkinabè people for opening their hearts and communities in a spirit of dignity, solidarity, and shared heritage. This welcome will remain a powerful testament to the enduring bond between the diaspora their ancestorial home.
Finally, thanks to Her Excellency, Ambassador Dr. Arikana Chihombori- Quao, president of African Diaspora Development Institute (ADDI) – staff members, and volunteers for leading nearly 700 Africans “back to the root”, and for making this historic event; a massive cultural and economic reconnection initiative for Africa and its diaspora.

The song encourages us to work together and stand against oppression – “One one coco full basket” in this song is an ancestor’s proverb meaning that small, steady actions, patience, and consistent efforts will eventually lead to major success – a vision of the potential of this covenant.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s planting of this tree is reminiscent of a timeless vision in Isaiah 65:21–22 – it symbolically parallels the promise of restoration for Burkina Faso, and our continent, including the African diaspora returning to their ancestral homeland after 400+ years in modern-day Babylon – A poignant reminder that:
“We will not build houses for another to inhabit, nor plant vineyards for another to eat our fruit; for the days of our people will be like the days of the trees, and we will enjoy the work of our own hands.”
